Clash of Clans is a Strategy game that can be downloaded for FREE over the Play Store in your Android phone or tablet. You will need an internet connection to play. The objective of the game is to build your village and amass your army, and attack other online players! You may form an alliance with other players, or crush them into submission! The game file size is 49.65 megabytes, and with a 5 mb internet connection it takes approximately 3 minutes to download and play.

How to Play:

Clash of Clans starts you off with a tutorial right away. It tells me how to build my first building, the Barracks and create Barbarians in preparation for the attack by the Goblins. Clash of Clans runs smooth and the graphics are pretty. The theme is set in the Medieval Age.

The layout is simple but effective. On the top left is your level, your name and Achievements that you unlock when you progress through the game. The top right shows how many Gold (the yellow coin), Elixir (the purple drop) and Gems (the green jewel) you have. They are the resources of the game. The lower right is where you find Settings, and Shop, for buying Buildings, Units and Resources. When you tap on a building or a Unit, the details show in the lower middle screen. When you have built up your army, press the Attack button on the lower left of the screen to begin!

Choosing the Attack button takes you to a map. The circles are stages that you can choose and attack your forces with. If you defeat all of the enemy forces and destroy all their buildings, you get 3 stars. If you wish, you can find a live opponent to attack on the Multiplayer option. It will show you the village of the opponent, and the Go Signal if you wish to proceed.

Choose your Unit first, the Barbarians, Archers or Giants then click on anywhere on the stage to deploy them. The attack is automated and there is no need to manage your forces - they will attack the nearest Defense tower or opposing unit first, then the Main buildings after. Battle ends when you have destroyed all the buildings or if your forces get all wiped out and eliminated.

The meat of the game is attacking live opponents to get Trophies. The more Trophies you have, the higher in Rank and League. Clash of Clans is mainly a multiplayer type of game, the true objective is to rise in the ranks and be on Top Clans or in Top Players!


Clash of Clans is on the Top of games to play in the Play Store for a reason - It is easy to get into, it is popular and free! The graphics are beautiful, the interface is clean, and it is simple enough, yet addictive at the same time! I would give it an 8/10 rating. Why not a perfect 10? The reason is waiting time. Waiting for your resources to generate to the maximum limit can take up to 20 hours if you are considerably far into the game, and High-end units take up to 5 to 6 hours to produce. This is not a game that you can finish in a week. It is a game that you have to be consistent with, visit every day to upgrade your buildings and train your troops. Unfortunately, it is not for everyone but can serve as a quick diversion on that commute to work, or when you are waiting for someone.
